A true witness saves lives…(Proverbs 14:25)

This will be the final blog of this year.

Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be sharing “The Best Of 2021.” I will send out the best blogs, social media posts and messages of the past year. Look for our first post of 2022 on January 7.

I could think of no better way to conclude this years’ ruminations than to share a powerful testimony that I received from one of our readers. Sometimes God arranges a confluence of events to encourage you, and to let you know that you are headed in the right direction. Well, that divine confluence occurred for me last week.

Last Friday, I wrote a blog about the importance of making big plans. On Saturday, one of our readers shared this story in response to that blog. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read what she wrote:

I remember when I first met you, you asked me "what was my dream job." Fast forward many years later when I was at my lowest point, I had to start my life all over again. I was deep in prayer asking God what was his plan for my life because it seemed hopeless to me, I heard a still small voice ask me, what do you really Want to do? It was almost like your question, what is your dream job? I was trying to figure out things like, how am I going to get this dream job, I don't have the education or the money to get it. I heard in my spirit forget about how, where or when...answer the question. I thought back to my childhood and how I always wanted to see all of the USA, and as I was thinking about it and seeing it in my head, I remembered that I wanted to see the world and speak many languages.

Within that week, I was inquiring about whether they hire flight attendants at my age (55 yrs), and the answer was yes. They were hiring in Texas and I was in Arizona. My brother worked for the airlines and he tried to discourage me, but he put me on a plane to Houston. Well, I passed training with a small airline and nailed the job. Flying for 6 months, I saw the USA! Then the airline I was flying with was closing their base after I was with them for exactly 6 months on. We were flying in one day over the Houston Intercontinental Airport and below us I saw these beautiful gold tail airplanes, they were a luxury fleet. I asked the pilots who's planes were those? They told me the airlines and said they were hiring. I immediately applied and met a few people who worked for them. It was a specialty charter airlines. They flew dignitaries, military and VIP's. The job was risky they said, and I would be flying and staying in foreign countries for months at a time. Sign me up!

It has been 9 years, I have seen the world ten times over, stayed in the most beautiful places. I have lived in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and many countries no one has ever heard of. I've met beautiful people all over the world who only want what we want, and that is a safe place to live for their family, good food, companionship and peace. By the way, I speak many languages now. Ha! I dreamed big and my dream came true. Whether you plan it or just believe it - God is a Big God - So Believe Big, He can make it happen! Carry on.

I mean, what a powerful story! I was so excited to read this testimony. Then on Sunday, I shared a message entitled “Don’t Keep It Yourself,” a message about the importance of telling our stories.

Well, that’s exactly what Moneka did last week. She shared her story. And to be completely honest, reading her story was one of the best Christmas presents I have received. It was a reminder of how the smallest actions we take can sometimes have an incredible impact on people’s lives. Her story is phenomenal. It was just the oxygen I needed to “keep on keeping on.” And I want to thank her for sharing it.

I want you to do for someone else what Moneka did for all of us. Perhaps the best Christmas gift that you can give is not another piece of jewelry, not another electronic device, not another pair of shoes, or another gift card to a restaurant. Sharing the story of the incredible ways that God has guided, protected, and provided for you would give somebody the inspiration and motivation to get through this Holiday season, and to “keep on keeping on” through what has been the most challenging times in most of our lives.

Stop sitting on your story. A true witness saves lives.
