Pastor Joseph Carlos Robinson is the Founder and Pastor of Resurrection Church in Carson, California. Since its inception on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in 2007, more than 4,000 souls have been added to the Kingdom of God and joined its' membership ranks. The ministry has spearheaded a variety of innovative initiatives, including the S.T.E.M. Xpressions Media Camp, the film production company N3 Days Media, Inc, LIFEGIVERS Community Development Corporation, INTACT Counseling Center. Pastor Robinson's messages have also been broadcast locally and internationally through BACK2LIFE, its television outreach ministry.
Pastor Robinson is a third generation preacher. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the second son of Reverend Joseph and Mrs. Lizzie M. Robinson. His father served in the African Methodist Episocpal Church for 52 years, pastoring 13 churches in 7 states.
After spending his formative years in New York, Pastor Robinson attended Morehouse College, where he was honored with the Martin Luther King Jr. Fellowship Award, and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion in 1992. He then received the Benjamin Elijah Mays Fellowship from the Fund for Theological Education to attend Harvard Divinity School, where he completed four years of graduate study in the history of early Christianity. While at Harvard, served as the Director for the Youth Educational and Development Program and worked in the Conferences Department of the National Urban League in New York City and worked as a Legislative Assistant in the 106th and 107th session of the US House of Representatives in the Congressional offices of the Rev. Dr. Floyd H. Flake (D-NY) and Pastor of Allen AME Church in Jamaica Queens
In 1996, Pastor Robinson was appointed Senior Pastor of Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Hartford, Connecticut.
After serving that congregation for two years, Pastor Robinson enrolled in the University of Connecticut School of Business, and was awarded the Ernst and Young Scholars Award. After graduating with an MBA in marketing, he joined Ernst and Young, LLC, first as an associate in their public accounting practice, and later, their strategy consulting business, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young.
In 2000, Pastor Robinson was appointed Senior Pastor of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in St. Louis, Missouri. From 2005-2007, Pastor Robinson served as the Executive Pastor of the City of Refuge Ministries, Inc. in Gardena, California under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones. From 2009-2016, Pastor Robinson also served as Chaplain of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Pastor Robinson is married to Mrs. Andrea Whitfield Robinson and is the proud father of Malachi Squire-a graduate of Harvard University now graduate student at Emory University in Atlanta,, Georgia and and Caleb Emmanuel--an undergraduate student at Howard University in Washington, DC.
